Squash
The Squash Club started at Ashwells Road with 170 members. Within a few years we had three mens’ and one ladies’ team in the Essex League. There were also up to 11 divisions of six people in the internal leagues. Since then squash has declined nationally. This year an Essex League team is again playing from Ashwells Road and there is a possibility of an internal league starting again. We look forward to a new era at the Old Brentwood Squash Club.
The two courts are available to members and associate members of the Society, the light meters accepting five £1 coins for 40 minutes play. Courts may be booked through the Steward at Ashwells Road, but at most times only a short wait would be needed prior to play. The courts are not open on Mondays at present.
