Famous Members

Many Old Brentwoods go on to take up prestigious careers after they leave the school. Old Brentwoods are found in every walk of life, from City Business, to the Arts, Broadcasting, the Church, the Armed Forces, Politics and Sports. As part of the school’s Millennium celebrations, it published a book called, “The Best of Days?” which gives a collection of personal memories by some of the school’s better-known alumni. These include, Sir Hardy Amies, Sir Robin Day, Douglas Adams, Griff Rhys Jones, Noel Edmonds, and Frank Lampard Junior. Other notable Old Brentwoods include Stewart Robson (professional footballer with Arsenal Football Club), Eric Peters, (Rugby Union, who has been capped for Scotland), Peter Stothard (former editor of The Times), Peter Allen (journalist and broadcaster), Charles Bean (member of The Bank of England Monetary Committee) and Peter Barker (squash player).
